Bryon W. Smith, Senior Vice President and Investment Advisor Representative with Planned Asset Management, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Wealth Management Advisor with a passion for assisting clients in achieving their short and long-term goals through sound financial planning. Growing up in Oak Park, CA, he’s a Southern California native who has previously worked for UBS Financial Services, Morgan Stanley, and RBC Wealth Management. Bryon earned his BA in Communication Studies from the California State University, Northridge, holds a Life, Health and Long-term Care insurance license, and a FINRA Series 66 license. He has previously held the FINRA Series 3, 7, and 9/10 securities licenses.

A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Bryon enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking, riding motorcycles, and is an ardent sports fan who is a firm believer in the pursuit of happiness. Bryon remains active in the veteran community through the American Legion Riders Chapter 61 (aboard the Battleship Iowa) where he sits as Treasurer, and the American Legion Hollywood Post 43, where he currently sits on their Executive Board as well as the Budget and Finance Committee (BFC) after previously serving as the Post’s CFO and chairing the BFC for several years. He was honored as Legionnaire of the year in 2021 and received the prestigious Legion Medal of Merit in 2022. Bryon lives with his wife, two children and their dog Daisy in Agoura Hills, CA.

*Certified Financial Planners must attain a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university and have three years of full-time personal financial planning experience or the equivalent part-time experience (2,000 hours equals one year full-time). Certified Financial Planners must also complete a CFP-board registered program, or hold one of the following: CPA, ChFC, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), CFA, Ph.D. in business or economics, Doctor of Business Administration, or an Attorney’s License.
